CHD conducts ‘on street’ night vigilantes twice in a week across the city accompanied with aid and emergency services along with taking care of the other issues faced during the vigils reported by the homeless citizens. Working in Delhi, as part of the vigil exercise, a major chunk of work accumulates during summer and winter in an attempt to counter seasonal deaths. CHD aims to work towards a zero-death zone in the city during these extreme seasons.

CHD alerts the media on the real scenario of the homeless population and engages the government machinery (departments, commissions, the NHRC and the judicial system) to intervene. CHD keeps a record of the homeless deaths that are identified and also tries to ascertain the cause of death.
